An organizer for underwear is an indispensable item in the household that allows you to keep the linen drawer in the closet in perfect order. Such an organizer is easy to make with your own hands, adjusting its dimensions exactly to the place for storing linen.
Classic organizer out of the box
The easiest way to make a laundry organizer is based on ready-made cardboard boxes. To do this, you need a box, the dimensions of which will allow you to place it in a closet drawer or in the place where your underwear is stored. The side walls of the box are carefully cut to the desired height, after which the future organizer is pasted over from the inside and outside with beautiful decoupage paper.
Rectangular strips are cut from another box, which will serve to create partitions. The number of strips depends on how many cells the organizer will contain. Small cuts are made on the parts, which are needed to connect the partitions to each other. To maintain the general design style, the partitions are also pasted over with decoupage paper, and for reliability they are covered with a layer of varnish on top. Partitions are inserted into the organizer, if necessary, they are decorated with decorative elements.
If the organizer is on open shelves, then it can be made more elegant by stitching a cover made of fabric instead of pasting with paper. A rectangle is drawn on the selected fabric, the dimensions of which allow you to close the bottom and walls of the box from the outside. In the same way, the inner cover for the organizer and its partitions is made, and the fabric can be either the same color as on the outer cover, or in a contrasting color.
First, the outer cover is pulled onto the organizer, then the inner one and partitions are installed. The upper edge of the inner cover is processed with a decorative seam or trimming tape and folded over the outer cover. The finished product is decorated with ribbons, bows, fabric flowers, beads.
Honeycomb organizer
The organizer for lingerie, made in the form of hexagons-honeycombs, looks very original and impressive. To make such a container, you will need plastic cards of the same size and thick paper. If you do not have used plastic cards at hand, then you can replace them with cardboard blanks cut according to a template.
To make an even and neat honeycomb, cut out a strip of paper, the size of which allows you to fold it lengthwise and put six plastic cards inside the resulting strip. It is recommended to lay the cards with a distance of about 2-3 mm and fix them with a drop of glue. At the same time, a small margin should remain at the bottom edges of the paper strip so that the paper can be slightly bent - this way the finished cell will stick to the bottom.
For the bottom, you need to prepare cardboard hexagons. The strip with the cards is folded in the form of a hexagonal honeycomb, contoured, thus obtaining a template for making the bottom of the cell. At the formed honeycomb, the bent lower edges are coated with glue, the bottom is glued, and then the side walls of the honeycomb are glued together. To give the design reliability, you can stick it on a thick sheet of cardboard. The finished organizer is decorated with ribbons, lace, bows.
