Step 1
If you need to make a Latin costume, choose a top and a short skirt. Fragmented on the skirt, stitch flounces or fringe on the back or on the sides, you can do both. Tie the fringe on the skirt in tiers horizontally or diagonally. You can combine fringes of different colors, lengths and textures.
Step 2
If you decide to decorate the skirt with flounces, then measure the edge of the product to which you will sew the flounce. Write down your result. This length will be equal to the circumference of the inner circle of the shuttlecock.
Step 3
Make a calculation: the length of the edge of your skirt: 6, 28 = the radius of the circle. Draw a circle with the resulting radius. Draw the second outer circle from the same circle center. Add its radius by as much as the width of the shuttlecock you want to make. Cut out the outlines of the circles. Cut the part from the outside to the inside.
Step 4
If the edge of the skirt to which you will hem the flounce turns out to be long, then draw the inner circle with a smaller radius. Using this pattern, cut out several flounces and sew them together. This way you can get the shuttlecock of the length you need.
Step 5
Sew the shuttlecock along the inner cut. To get more waves, make the radius of the inner circle as small as possible. You can narrow the shuttle to one end, then it will have an inner spiral cut.
Step 6
Do not forget to make an increase in the seam when cutting out - 1 cm, but not more, otherwise you will get unwanted folds. Pay attention to the position of the share thread when cutting. If you need to save fabric, then cut shuttlecocks in the form of a snail.
Step 7
If you will be sewing shuttlecocks one above the other, then be sure to overcast the inner sections. Put the shuttlecocks face to face with the product and sew, cut the allowances several times. Press the shuttle down.
