It is necessary

  • - glass of the required size;
  • - special glue based on silicone with the inscription "for aquariums";
  • - cutter;
  • - roulette;
  • - plain or paper tape;
  • - marker;
  • - clean rags.

Instructions

Step 1

The first step is to determine the location of the future aquarium. In accordance with it, decide what size it will be.

Step 2

Order glasses from professionals, otherwise the aquarium may not work, any errors are unacceptable. In addition, glaziers process the edges of the glass themselves to avoid cuts.

Step 3

On the glass that will serve as the bottom of the aquarium, collect the remaining 4 glass-walls without glue so far. Fit them carefully to each other so that the gaps are as small as possible. This work must be done at least two people, so that one holds the glass, the other looks, measures and makes the appropriate marks on the glasses.

Step 4

Coat the ends of the first long wall with glue and install it, pressing it tightly against the base strictly at 90 degrees to it. Then alternately put two short walls, also adjusting them under the base and adjacent walls.

Step 5

Insert the second long wall last.

Step 6

Make sure all corners are straight and secure the structure by wrapping it tightly around it with tape. Spread excess silicone evenly over the inner joints of the aquarium. Leave the aquarium to dry overnight.

Step 7

To make an aquarium durable, you need to glue the stiffeners into it. Their number, thickness and location depend on the displacement of the resulting container. It will be good if you glue small plastic corners vertically to the inner seams, or narrow long pieces of glass remnants to the inner surface. Dry the aquarium well. The thicker the glass, the more days allow it to dry. Top up with water and check for leaks.
