It is necessary

old candle stubs or ordinary household candles, cotton thread, candle mold with a small hole

Instructions

Step 1

Make a candle wick. For the wick, it is better to use cotton threads, floss threads are also suitable. The thickness of the wick will depend on the thickness of the candle and the material you are making it from. For a wax candle, pick up thick threads and twist them not very tightly. Twist the wick with a pigtail or simply twist.

Step 2

The candle mold can be selected from a variety of metal molds available on the farm (cookie molds, cans, cups, dairy boxes).

Step 3

Take a Tetra Pak milk carton as a shape. Make a hole with a needle in the bottom of the mold and thread a wick there, tie a knot on the outside. In the place where you tied the knot, the candle will be up. On the other side, tie a wick on a stick across the box.

Step 4

Pick candles of the same color, put them in a ladle with a spout for easier pouring. After all the candle material has melted, start pouring in the candle. Pre-grease the mold from the inside with a layer of dishwashing liquid or vegetable oil. First coat the bottom with wax, let it harden. And then fill in the whole shape. The wick must also be soaked in wax.

When the candle has cooled down, untie the knot at the bottom and remove it. If your candle does not come out of the mold, despite all your efforts, cut the mold or put it in the freezer for a few seconds and then hold it under hot water.

Step 5

If ugly seams remain on your candle from the mold, they can be easily removed with hot water, although the candle will become cloudy and lose its shine. It is better to choose a shape without seams.
