Homemade candles are not only an interesting activity, but also an item for interior decoration. It is very simple to make them, and the process itself will appeal to both adults and children.
It is necessary
- Wax or ordinary household candles
- Wick thread
- Slightly wet river sand
- Sand container
- Wax melting utensils
- Wax stirring stick
- Several needles or sticks
Instructions
Step 1
Fill a container with sand. Give the desired shape to the future candles. Make some indentations with your finger - these will come in handy if you want to make a pot-on-footed candle.
Insert the thread (wick) into the center of the groove in the sand. Make sure it sits firmly and upright.
Step 2
Melt the wax in a bowl, stirring with a stick. If available, you can add any color and aromatic essential oils.
Step 3
Carefully fill the print in the sand with wax. Attach the thread (wick) to the knitting needle. Leave the candles on until the wax hardens completely.
Step 4
Remove the finished candles from the sand.
