Sewing a Snow Maiden costume is not an easy task, requiring diligence and attention. If you sewed a similar outfit from a plain fabric, then you definitely need to decorate it. If the coat itself is enough to decorate with light fur, then the mittens require a more thorough approach.
There are a lot of ideas on how to decorate mittens for the Snow Maiden. However, before proceeding with the decor of these accessories, it is very important to think over in advance the pattern that you want to perform on the mittens, to decide on the color scheme of the decorative elements. For example, if the costume itself is made of blue fabric and decorated with white fur, then it is best to sew mittens from white material and decorate with blue elements and vice versa. Once you decide on the pattern and color, you can proceed directly to the decor of the mittens.
To do this, put mittens in front of you, take a fabric crayon and draw symmetrical patterns on both mittens. For example, you can draw snowflakes, stars, Christmas trees, or any intricate patterns. The base is ready. Take the elements of your choice with which you will decorate the mittens (beads, rhinestones, stones). Make sure that there is enough material, for this, place the beads on the drawings drawn earlier in the order in which they will be in the finished product. Take the glue and carefully glue each element to its "place". Try to apply very little glue, otherwise it will be noticeable.
If, however, you decide to use embroidery as a decoration, then in this case the work plan will be as follows: draw symmetrical patterns on the mittens, take a needle and thread, put one mitten on your left hand (if you are left-handed, then on your right) and proceed to embroidery. As for the embroidery itself, use the stitches that you are most familiar with and are good at. For example, you can use cross stitch embroidery.
