Step 1
Before you start sewing on the machine, it must be set up and brought into working condition. Although sewing machines are stored in tight-fitting covers, they need to be prepared for work every time. Place it in a comfortable, light place and take care of an additional light source if you will be sewing under artificial lighting in the evening.
Step 2
Use a soft flannel cloth to wipe its body and drop a drop of oil into each technological hole intended for this. Clear access to the shuttle, inspect it and remove any dust that has accumulated inside the housing. Make sure that there are no scraps of thread and dust in the circular groove - in electric machines they slow down the movement of the shuttle, which leads to overheating of the mechanism.
Step 3
Adjust the height of the feed dog according to the thickness of the fabric. If you will be sewing from silk or any other delicate fabric, set the adjuster to the “Silk” position, all other fabrics sew in the “Normal” position.
Step 4
Adjust the pressure of the presser foot using the threaded bushing located on its shaft. The thicker the fabric, the stronger the pressure should be. You can adjust it according to the pattern of the fabric from which you are going to sew. Fold the patch in half and sew, adjusting the pressure and stitch length you want. Thick fabrics are sewn with 3 mm stitches, for thin fabrics set to 1, 5 - 2 mm. Adjust the tension of the upper thread with the adjuster screw so that there are no loops on the wrong side of the seam.
Step 5
After you finish sewing, wipe the machine clean, clean the bobbin case and the ring groove, place a piece of fabric under the foot, lower the needle down and loosen the set screw. Cover the machine with a cover.
