Painting clothes is a way to turn even the most boring wardrobe item into an exclusive and bright thing. Most often, images are applied to T-shirts, but other objects can also be transformed: skirts, sweaters, bags, scarves and even fabric shoes. For painting, you can use acrylic fabric paints - they are convenient, affordable and do not require exceptional artistic talents.
It is necessary
- - light-colored clothing,
- - acrylic paints for fabric,
- - contour for fabric,
- - palette,
- - hard brushes of different sizes,
- - paper,
- - scissors,
- - soft pencil,
- - cardboard or other material that can be placed under the fabric to be painted,
- - iron.
Instructions
Step 1
Wash and iron well the garments you will be decorating. For convenience, it is better to secure it with pins on a solid surface that is not afraid to get dirty. The shirt can be pulled over the box to smooth the surface of the fabric and protect the back from stains. If the pattern is not too large, the hoop will help to smooth and secure the fabric.
Step 2
Select an image and prepare a template. To do this, the contours of the drawing you have invented must be transferred to a sheet of paper. An image found on the Internet is easy enough to print.
Step 3
If the fabric is thin, simply place the template underneath and draw out the outlines with a simple pencil. If the thickness of the fabric does not allow you to see the pattern through, you can cut the pattern along the outline. Place the resulting stencil on top of the fabric, secure with pins if necessary and draw with a simple pencil.
Step 4
Circle the drawing with a fabric outline (it is applied directly from the tube without requiring dilution). This will prevent the paint from flowing outside the image. Let the circuit dry.
Step 5
Begin to apply the paint carefully to the fabric, being careful not to go beyond the outline. The paint can be taken directly from the jar, and if you want to mix several tones, use a palette or small light containers. Instead of brushes, you can use a spatula, palette knife, or other handy object. Acrylic paints are not recommended to be diluted with water; for this it is better to acquire special solvents. but often the consistency of paints does not require dilution.
Step 6
Freeze the image. To fix the pattern on your clothes, you need to wait until the paints are dry, and then iron the fabric from the inside with a hot iron for 3-5 minutes. The temperature should match the type of fabric of the garment. If the fabric is synthetic, then it is better to iron it from the front side, protecting the design with a sheet of paper or a thin cotton cloth.
