Step 1
Blanks for decorating in the form of plaster eggs can be made at any time of the year, then for the holiday you will only have to get the paints and paint them.
To make gypsum eggs, you need a specially prepared eggshell. Carefully pierce the egg from one end, slightly widen the hole, carefully pour out the contents, rinse the shell thoroughly. Place the prepared shells in the egg tray and dry.
Step 2
To prepare a gypsum solution, take water and gypsum in a ratio of 1: 1, 5 - 1: 2. A thicker solution hardens faster. Pour the plaster solution quickly into the shell molds. The gypsum will harden within 2 to 3 days. After a day, you can remove the shells and leave the castings to dry in air. The shell is not very easy to remove, in order to simplify the process, lightly tap the shells filled with gypsum, roll it on a hard surface, and then carefully separate the pieces of the shell from the plaster cast.
Step 3
When the gypsum eggs are dry, you can proceed to the next stage of work. Gypsum blanks must be sanded. Start with the largest sandpaper and finish with the finest. Use a napkin or cloth to remove any gypsum dust from the surface.
Step 4
Now you need to prime the surface of the eggs so that the paint does not peel off during the decorating process. To do this, you need to prepare a special solution. A mixture of water and PVA glue is best suited. The proportion is approximately 1: 1 - 2: 1, depending on the thickness of the glue. Just stir the glue and water to make white water, apply the mixture all over the egg. Dry.
Step 5
Then you can proceed directly to decorating Easter eggs. To do this, touch up the acrylic varnish with a small amount of paint and apply on the surface of the gypsum eggs prepared for decoration in the form of patterns, chaotic strokes, and a pattern. Dry. Additionally, you do not need to varnish the surface of the eggs.
