“Do you like to ride, love to carry sledges” - this popular Russian proverb is very suitable for fans of spinning fishing, because they forget or simply do not want to at least occasionally lubricate the main part of their fishing gear - the reel.

Instructions

Step 1

The coil is not a car engine, but it is a maintenance mechanism nonetheless. The kinematic diagram of the reel is attached to the certificate of the spinning rod and on the eve of lubrication it should be studied. To disassemble the coil, you will need a regular and Phillips screwdriver, a wrench, brushes of different hardness and tweezers. You also need thick and liquid lubricants and gasoline for flushing parts.

Step 2

The first step is to disassemble the coil. Even the most zealous owner accumulates a large amount of dirt in it during the season, so thoroughly rinse every detail in gasoline and especially the bearings. To do this, you can use a brush with stiff bristles, and tweezers to hold the bearings.

Step 3

Remove the remnants of the old grease at the same time as removing the dirt, as it is very possible that they may be incompatible with the new grease. Contaminated gasoline should be replaced with new one.

Step 4

For safety reasons, it is best to flush the coil in the open air, while observing fire safety measures. The washed parts must not be wiped off with a rag, as lint may remain from it. You just need to dry them by putting them on a sheet of paper.

Step 5

Choose the right lubricant. Several types of grease are used to lubricate the coil. So, for low-speed bearings on the handles and the internal mechanism, thick grease will be required, and for high-speed bearings (on the shackle when reeling) - liquid grease.

Step 6

Besides metal parts, there are many plastic parts in the reel. If possible, keep the plastic parts out of contact with the lubricants, as this could destroy them. To obtain the desired consistency of grease, you can mix several greases, but one condition must be met - only greases produced by the same company are mixed. Synthetic and mineral are incompatible, and automobile reels are unsuitable.
