The second important point is the techniques of sound production, after mastering which you can safely proceed to learning the melodies. So how do you play the harmonica correctly? Step 1
Learn to breathe “belly”. Try to send air much deeper during inhalation than during normal breathing. In this case, the stomach should, as it were, inflate in order to push all the air out with the help of the diaphragm during exhalation.
Step 2
Practice this breathing algorithm first without the instrument itself. Your inhalation should be equal throughout the entire length. To check this, place a burning candle at some distance from you, on which you blow during exhalation so that it does not go out. If you do everything right, you can do it.
Step 3
If you understand the principle of breathing, try to learn the first technique of making sounds with an accordion. To do this, fold your lips with a tube so that there is a small hole between them. Lower the jaw slightly so that the tool can be placed between the lips. Place the accordion with the fifth hole towards the lips. Exhale, trying to hear the sound of a single note after it. If you have problems, adjust the amount of gap between the lips, change the position of the accordion. As you move the accordion to the right and left, try out a variety of single notes as you exhale and inhale.
Step 4
Try other ways to make sounds. For example, position the instrument so that the lips cover all 5 holes, while at the same time that the accordion fits snugly enough in the mouth. Cover the 4 holes with your tongue and try to exhale one note. Vary the position of the tongue and the size of the gap until you get the most optimal position. Experiment with different holes and get new sounds and notes.
