It is necessary

  • - fabric for the front of the cover;
  • - lining fabric;
  • - foamed insulation;
  • -vatin or synthetic winterizer;
  • - oblique inlay;
  • - fastener (Velcro tape, buttons or buttons);
  • - sewing machine;
  • - threads;
  • - a needle;
  • - scissors.

Instructions

Step 1

Find a good fabric for your cover; a lot will depend on it. For a man, choose thin leather or suede in a noble color, and a women's version of a laptop bag can be made of cotton or upholstery fabric in bright colors. In addition, you will need lining fabric, synthetic winterizer or batting, as well as foam insulation.

Step 2

Measure your laptop's dimensions, width, thickness, and height. If it is not possible to measure, but you know the model name, check the sizing information on the Internet.

Step 3

Calculate the size of the patterns, for this add the thickness of the laptop to the width and another 2 cm for the free entry. To determine the length of the parts, also increase the measured length of the laptop by the thickness and by 2 cm. In addition, the lower part should be 10 cm longer than the upper part in order to create a scent for the zipper (if you decide to make a zipper, then the parts must be the same) …

Step 4

Cut with small seam allowances and cut out parts from the front and lining fabric, batting or padding polyester. If possible, make a cushion of any foam insulation, it will protect the laptop from possible shock and damage. Please note that the insulation is difficult to bend and it is almost impossible to sew it with a machine, so cut out parts from it without any allowances, exactly to the size of the laptop.

Step 5

Fold together all the layers of the upper, short, parts - front, batting and purl, sew along the edge on three sides. If you use foam insulation, insert it inside and close the fourth part with a bias tape.

Step 6

In the same way, fold the layers of the lower part, put in the insulation, fix on three sides. Then fold both pieces together as they will look finished and sew along the edge with a simple stitch. You now have a rough, envelope-shaped case with ugly, raw edges.

Step 7

Take the bias tape and round the edge of the bottom (large) part. In this case, the partially slanting inlay will also capture the untreated part (three sides) of the upper part, thus, the entire case will acquire a neat finished look.

Step 8

Sew the fastener onto the laptop sleeve, it can be Velcro, zipper, buttons. If you choose buttons as your fastener, use loopback loops, as welt loops will cause a lot of inconvenience.
