Magnificent royal vestments are unthinkable without a golden crown, scepter and purple robes - a wide long cape trimmed with precious ermine fur. Therefore, if you are going to arrive at the New Year's carnival in the honorary role of the monarch, try not to miss a single detail when making your costume. Choose bright red satin or velvet for royal porphyry and you are guaranteed to be the center of attention at any ball. After all, who, if not a royal personage, is worthy of royal honors!
It is necessary
- - dense red fabric (such as satin or velvet);
- - white artificial fur or terry cloth;
- - large shiny button or brooch;
- - cotton wool;
- - black acrylic paint;
- - graph paper, sewing supplies and a sewing machine.
Instructions
Step 1
Measure your neck circumference and the desired length of the robe. Build her pattern: draw a semicircle on a large piece of graph paper, the radius of which is equal to the length of the product. From the same center, draw a second semicircle with a radius equal to the circumference of the neck divided by twice π. For a free fit in the neck area, slightly lengthen the inner semicircle, adding 1-1.5 cm to both sides and adjusting the neckline.
Step 2
Cut out a red cloth mantle (seam allowances for all cuts - 1.5 cm). From white faux fur or terrycloth, cut a cape (with allowances for seams) along the mantle pattern shortened to the desired length. Cut out the same piece of the cape from the white lining fabric.
Step 3
From the same fleecy white material, cut out a trim for the mantle (a wide strip sewn around the edge of the garment). To do this, use the same pattern, marking the outline of the edging on it and dividing it into three parts: two front strips and one semicircular strip running along the bottom of the product.
Step 4
Sew both parts of the cape along three cuts (except for the neckline), folding them face to face, turn them out, straighten the corners and iron them through the iron. Connect the trim pieces together with diagonal connecting stitches: lay the adjacent stripes face to face, aligning the edges and at an angle of 45 degrees, lay the stitch from the outer edge to the inner edge. Trim off excess fabric and iron the corner seams.
Step 5
On the wrong side of the red mantle, place the rim with the right side and stitch along the three cuts of the mantle (except for the neckline). Turn the trim over to the right side, straighten the corners, trim the allowances to 0.5 cm and iron the edges of the cape. Fold the loose edges of the trim inward and stitch the detail onto the gown.
Step 6
Place the cape with the right side on the wrong side of the robe and line up the neckline. Baste the fluffy cape piece to the robe and machine stitch. Tuck the part of the cape from the lining fabric and sew it to the neck cut allowances by hand - this way this cut will be completely closed.
Step 7
Buckle at the neckline. It can be an air buttonhole with a large shiny button. Also, the mantle can be chopped off with a large brooch with shiny stones.
Step 8
Ermine tails with black tips can be imitated using elongated waddings of cotton wool, tucked together by hands and tinted with black paint, sewn onto the robe. Or you can simply paint the white cape with black “ermine” paint.
