The first thing to remember when drawing a person is, of course, symmetry. Of course, there are almost no absolutely symmetrical faces in nature, but the left and right halves should be similar. When you draw on a piece of paper, you can periodically look through the light to help you see the asymmetry. If you paint in Adobe Photoshop, you can flip the image horizontally for the same purpose.

Also, when drawing a face, you have to keep proportions in mind. The most common mistakes in drawing faces are eyebrows that are set too high, eyes set too narrow, and a nose that is too long.

A few words directly about proportions. Draw an oval for the face and divide it in half with a horizontal line. Eyes should be located on this line - no higher. Next, divide your face with horizontal lines into three equal parts. The upper of these three lines indicates the location of the eyebrows, the middle indicates the tip of the nose, and the lower indicates the end of the chin.

The distance between the eyes should be such that you can draw a third eye there. The distance between the wing of the nose and the inner corner of the eye is approximately equal to the length of the eye. If you are drawing a face in a strict full-face, the top of the ears will be flush with the eyes, and the lobes will be flush with the tip of the nose.

To make the face look feminine enough, draw a rounded, pointed chin. Basically, the chin and jaw determine the femininity or masculinity of the face, not the head of hair. The jaw should not look heavy and square. Try to paint more subtle features.
