Speaking about the stages of sewing a shirt, it is difficult to draw up a single technology for all occasions. There are a huge number of different models and ways to sew them. However, in fashion there are the basic principles of sewing a shirt, that is, the standard technology for manufacturing its individual elements. Still, it will not be superfluous to add a little imagination to make the shirt more versatile.

It is necessary

  • - sewing machine;
  • - the cloth;
  • - sewing accessories.

Instructions

Step 1

Fold the material for making the components of the shirt in half, attach the pattern, circle it with chalk and cut out the parts to the required size. If you are not sure about the correctness of the prepared pattern, increase the allowances for the side seams, bottom seams and shoulder seams. Transfer the darts and marks to the prepared parts. The darts are prepared using safety pins. It is convenient to make marks with 2-3 cm notches on allowances. The line of the middle and front must be highlighted with a bright contrasting color.

Step 2

Sweep down bust and waist darts, as well as side and shoulder seams. Then sweep the sleeves sewn face to face into the armhole, aligning all the seams together. Sew the waist darts from the middle to the ends, without setting the bartacks, but tying them in knots. On white fabrics, gaps should be minimal, and on transparent fabrics, use a French seam. Sew the product. However, there is no need to grind the shoulder seams at this stage. Mark the cuts and iron the product.

Step 3

When the base of the shirt is ready, prepare 2 pieces for the collar and stand. Connect the parts together, attaching the edges in shape and size. In this case, the upper part must be displaced 2 mm inward so that it is slightly larger than the upper one. Stitch, iron and turn the collar to the right side.

Step 4

Connect the pillar to the collar. The upper collar piece is applied to the collar, while clearly aligning the middle, and the lower collar is applied to the upper collar face to face. Then grind off the shirt part from the side of the lower rack.

Step 5

Sew the finished collar to the garment. Align the neck of the shirt with its center. The ends of the strut of the product must match exactly with the edges of the fastener. Sew and iron the collar. Next, you need to sew on the sleeves.

Step 6

To complete the garment completely, remove all basting seams and prepare buttonholes for shirt buttons. The length of the loop should be 2 mm longer than the diameter of the button, and the distance between them should be 6-10 cm. It is worth paying attention to the fact that the smaller the size of the button, the more often the loops should be. You can cut the loops with a sharp ripper, securing the edges of the loop with pins so that the cut does not turn out to be longer than necessary. On the other side of the shirt, sew the buttons along the already prepared buttonholes. Further, to make the shirt look fashionable and unique, use your imagination and creativity.
