Are you wondering how to draw a sunset without any artistic skills and spend a minimum of your time? Give preference to simple doodling patterns, and your drawing will turn out to be bright and original.
It is necessary
- - a sheet of watercolor paper;

- - watercolor or gouache (yellow, orange, red, blue and light blue);

Instructions
Step 1
To create a sketch of the drawing, you will need to draw a horizon line that will separate the sea and the sky. Using a compass in the center of the sheet, you need to outline the circumference of the setting sun and using a ruler with a simple pencil draw lines with rays emanating from the center to the sides. The figure shows 13 rays of the sun, which will alternate in two colors.
Step 2
Fill in yellow rays through one, and then move on to coloring the sun disk. Towards the horizon, use red shades, gradually adding orange to the palette. Make the sun's edge yellow. If you are using watercolors, try not to conserve water. The colors will blend into one another, creating a beautiful sunny gradient. Do not forget to also mark out with yellow paint the trail from the sun, which usually appears on the sea surface at sunset.
Step 3
When the paint dries, start filling the rest of the rays with an orange tint, trying not to go into the borders of the neighboring ones. This will give you nice contrast that looks neat. Take the blue palette and move to the sea. To do this, try to reproduce the effect of slight waves on the surface of the water with the help of blue and cyan colors. Alternate between these shades, remembering to moisten the brush with water, and you will get smooth play, reminiscent of a sea wave.
Step 4
After all the paint is dry, use a white gel pen or a fine white gouache brush. Now it remains to turn on all your imagination and start filling the sea and sun area with various simple patterns. You don't need to come up with something complicated. Various curls and circles will look beautiful on the water. There are many simple patterns to be found in doodling and zentangle styles. It remains to choose the most beautiful patterns and try to reproduce them in your drawing.
Step 5
Gradually move from one color area to another, filling your impromptu landscape with white squiggles. Now you know how to draw a sunset in stages, spending no more than one hour on all the work. The picture turns out to be original, without requiring the artist to have great detail and knowledge of academic drawing.
