The faces of young girls excited artists of all eras. Even a novice draftsman who has just picked up a pencil can try to create a portrait of a contemporary. To do this, you need to show some observation and overcome the fear of a blank slate, which is natural with a lack of experience.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - pencil;
- - a model or her photograph.
Instructions
Step 1
For those who have never tried their hand at the art of portraiture, it is better to start with photography. Take a close look at the face of the one you are about to paint. Determine which geometric shape the face most resembles. It can be oval, round, triangular or rectangular. Of course, in the drawing, as in the very outline of the face, there will be no sharp corners. The similarity with a particular geometric figure is determined mainly by the ratio of sizes - the height and width of the forehead, the size of the chin, etc.
Step 2
Draw a vertical line roughly in the middle of the sheet. Take a closer look at the pose of your model. She can stand looking straight ahead. The head can be tilted back, tilted forward, right or left. Determine the approximate angle of inclination of the head in relation to the vertical and draw the center line of the face.
Step 3
Divide the centerline into 7 roughly equal parts. Some deviations are possible. It depends on the individual characteristics of the person. At the level of the second line from the bottom, step back to the right and left equal distances. Pre-determine the approximate ratio of the height and width of the face in its lower part. In the same way, step back at the same distance to both sides from the centerline at the level of the third mark from the top.
Step 4
Sketch the general outline of the face. At the same stage, you can draw a line of hair and outline the position of the nose, lips and eyes. The middle of the bridge of the nose falls on the third mark from the top, the tip of the nose - on the fourth. The lips are located between the first and second marks from the bottom. Mark with dots the outer and inner edges of the eyes, the corners of the lips, the position of the wings of the nose.
Step 5
Take a closer look at your model's eyes. The eyelids can be positioned differently. The lower line is flatter than the upper one. In girls with a Mongoloid type of face, the lower eyelid can generally be curved upward. Draw the elements of the face along the given points.
Step 6
Remove extra lines. Sketch the additions - neck, folds of clothing, jewelry. Take a closer look at facial expressions. Even a very young face has wrinkles and folds. Their location and depth largely depend on the mood. For example, a smiling girl has rather deep folds on her face between the corners of her lips and her nose.
Step 7
Refine the lines. Draw the hair in the direction of its growth. Brighten up the eyes and lips. The smiling girl also has teeth. Draw the irises of the eyes in a circular motion.
