First, it is better to draw a sunset with a pencil, then, if you wish, add rich colors with watercolors, gouache, felt-tip pens or colored pencils. Crayons will help create an interesting landscape. Start your picture of a sunset at sea by drawing the horizon line. In this natural corner, it coincides with the intersection of the water surface with the sky.
Choose the size of the sun. If you want it to be large, draw a semicircle in the middle of the horizon line. It will be clear that the lower half of the star has already descended, and the upper one is still visible. You can depict the sun small if the drawn sunset is located in a place far from the equator. In this case, the fiery planet can land not over the sea, but over a river or lake. Draw a small circle just above the horizon for the sun.
It is necessary to complement the landscape with objects. Let the boat cut the water. Place her body just below the horizon. It consists of two parallel sections, the bow of the boat is pointed and the rear part is rounded. Further, from the upper part of the boat's hull, there is a triangle, with the tip upwards - this is the sail.
To make it clear that this is sunset, cover the sail with light strokes, and make the hull of the boat darker by pressing the pencil harder.
In the sky, place several horizontal stripes, drawing with a pencil to the right and left. You do not need to do this around the sun so that the light around it can be seen. The pencil will help show the glare on the water, which is cast by this celestial body. Move the artist's tool left and right and slowly work your way towards the foreground of the painting. The strokes should be short - 2 cm. Step back from them the same amount, again lead the shadow path from the horizon line almost to the foreground of the picture.
Make several of these shadow paths so that the light paths are visible between them. On the right and left, at the place where the water meets the sky, draw a small chain of mountains so that the distant shore is visible. In the foreground, you can depict grass, large stones.
Sunset in the forest
The picture in which the sun sets behind the trees is also fascinating. Draw a jagged horizontal line where the sky meets the tops of the trees. Some of them are higher, others are slightly lower. Some are pointed, others grow in a semicircle. This is how you should get this line.
Choose where the setting sun will be located in the landscape - in the middle, left or right. At this point, just above the treetops, place the luminary. Where it descends, their crown is light, depict it darker on both sides. The farther from the sparkling star, the darker the forest. Paint the tree trunks, making the shadows more saturated on those farther from the sun.
