With the resistance of the caught fish, as well as with the casting from the shore of heavy feeders for feeding, a lot of pressure is exerted on the line, as a result of which it can break. Therefore, it is recommended to tie the shock leader to the main line, it is he who takes over the jerk of a strong fish and extinguishes it.

Step 1
Before knitting a shock leader, remember:
- for new fishing, the tackle is replaced;
- the length of the shock leader should not exceed 2/3 of the length of the rod itself;
- usually requires from 8 to 12 m of fishing line with a diameter of 0.22-0.25 mm, in some cases, especially when casting feeders, you can use a fishing line with a diameter of up to 0.3 mm.
Step 2
The shock leader is knitted in several ways. For example, in order to apply Blood Knot, place the ends of the line parallel to one another, and then connect them together, making several turns. Thread the ends of the line through the hole in the middle and tighten the knot. Cut off excess line.
Step 3
Use the Albright node. To do this, fold the end of the shock leader so that a small loop forms, through which stretch the main line. Next, make a few loops around the shock leader loop, pull through and tighten the knot. Cut the ends of the fishing line, drip a drop of super glue so that the whole knot is smooth and does not catch when playing fish.
Step 4
Consider another knot for tying a shock leader. It is called the Klinch. It is usually used to connect a fishing line to a hook. The technique for performing this knot is very simple. Make a loop on the main line, pull the end of the cheek leader through it, turn it in the opposite direction and wrap it around its axis. Pull into the loop formed and tighten. Cut off the end.
