To paint gold, it's not enough just to find the right shade of honey yellow. In smooth metal, surrounding objects are reflected, and additional reflexes are added to the main color. These features must be taken into account so that the golden thing in the picture is recognizable.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - a simple pencil;
- - eraser;
- - paints.
Instructions
Step 1
Lay a sheet of paper horizontally. Use a thin light outline to roughly outline the outline of the ring. This is necessary in order to determine the size of the object. It should not "stick" to the edges of the sheet.
Step 2
Draw axes to build the shape of the ring. To do this, you need to draw three ellipses. Draw a horizontal axis for the one that touches the table surface. This line should be tilted upwards from the central horizontal axis by about 30 °. The vertical axis will be ¾ of the horizontal length. Draw an ellipse, touching the ends of the drawn lines.
Step 3
The second ellipse is at the level of the most convex part of the ring. It should be slightly wider and longer than the previous circle. The third ellipse is the top face of the ring. The length of the axes for it is equal to those that are in contact with the surface of the table. However, this ellipse is displaced to the right upward in relation to the bottom. Erase the guide lines and start working with color.
Step 4
Determine where the highlights are. These are the areas of gold that are lit so strongly that they appear white. They can be seen on the upper edge of the ring - in the form of a strip on the left and a spot on the right. There is also a glare on the front edge - it is a small narrow oval, and on the inner edge. Remember the location of the highlights and don't paint over them.
Step 5
Find the lightest shade on the metal surface. It's lemon yellow around the highlight in the center of the ring. Mix this color in the palette and apply it all over the outside of the ring.
Step 6
Gradually introduce reflexes. The blue color of the fabric is mixed with the honey-gold and the result is a shade of green. Apply it with broad strokes on the right side of the ring and a thin stripe at the base on the left. In the center, under the highlight, add a streak of blue-brown, almost black. On the sides of it are two elongated orange reflexes.
Step 7
Fill the inner surface of the decoration with a mixture of blue, green and brown. Mark the area near the highlight with light blue spots.
Step 8
Using a thin brush, paint a pattern on the surface of the ring. Use yellow and orange on the raised areas and dark brown on the recesses.
