A sun skirt or a flared skirt is one of the simplest in execution and at the same time one of the most spectacular models. A skirt of this cut is suitable for women with any figure, it gives the silhouette a feminine touch. The "sun" pattern is a large circle, the radius of which depends on the length of the product, and a smaller circle located in the center of the large one - its circumference is equal to the waist. This pattern can be built directly on the fabric.

Instructions
Step 1
Take two measurements: waist circumference (OT) and product length (CI). These two measurements are enough to build a "sun" pattern.
Step 2
Calculate the amount of fabric needed to sew a flared skirt. If you are going to sew a not very long skirt, then the fabric should be taken at the rate of two lengths plus two radii of the inner circle, calculated by the formula: 1/6 of the waist circumference - 1 cm.
Step 3
For a long sun skirt, you will need to calculate the fabric consumption based on a certain length. It is convenient to use for this paper mock-ups of the pattern, reduced by 10 times. Draw such semicircular layouts on paper, and then attach them to a strip of conventional "fabric" drawn on paper with a 10 times reduced width. The length of the strip in which the two halves of the pattern will fit (leave a small gap for the belt between them, if provided by the model), multiplied by 10, and there is the length of the fabric cut you need.
Step 4
Before opening the fabric, wash, dry and iron it along the longitudinal thread so that the fabric shrinks as needed.
Step 5
If the width of the fabric allows you to cut out the entire skirt at once (with a short length of the product), then fold the fabric first in half along the shared thread with the right side inward, and then in two more along the weft thread. From the top of the corner, in which there is not a single cut of the fabric (some folds), draw an arc with a radius R1 equal to (1/6 OT - 1) cm. From the same point, draw a second arc with a radius R2 equal to R1 + DI. Give allowances on the bottom of the product 1 cm, on the upper cut - 1.5 cm.
Step 6
If the garment is long, fold the fabric face down in one layer and straighten it. From the upper left corner, set aside a distance equal to CI + 1 cm + R1. From this point, draw two semicircles with radii R1 and R2. Draw the other half of the skirt in the same way, but start from the lower right corner.
Step 7
Between the two parts of the "sun" draw, if necessary, a belt obliquely, i.e. at an angle of 45 degrees to the share line. The pattern of the belt is an elongated rectangle with a width equal to twice the width of the belt in finished form plus allowances of 1.5 cm, and a length equal to the waist circumference + 1-2 cm (for freedom of fitting) + allowances of 1.5 cm.
Step 8
Cut out the two main parts of the skirt and hang them for several hours by the upper sections, if wet, and then iron them in the direction of the longitudinal line. This is necessary to further align the bottom line.
Step 9
Stitch, if available, the side seams of the skirt, leaving free space in the left seam for a zipper, 2 cm shorter than it. Iron and overcast the seams in a zigzag or overlock.
Step 10
Sew in hidden zipper. Pre-glue the seam allowances with a thin interlining and press them on the wrong side.
Step 11
Also glue the belt with non-woven fabric. Fold it in half, wrong side in, and press. Now fold the belt right side in and sew short cuts, turn them out and press iron on. Sew the folded belt to the skirt and finish the cuts. Press the seam allowances up.
Step 12
Zigzag the bottom of the garment and then fold it with an open cut. Delicate fabrics can be hemmed by hand.
