Movies available for download on the Internet are often contained in rar, zip and other archives. Putting a file in an archive, firstly, allows you to reduce its size, and secondly, to split a large file into parts so that it is more convenient to upload it to the site and then download it. However, users sometimes have problems retrieving a movie from the archive, especially if it is multivolume or with a password.
It is necessary
- - a film in the archive or several parts of the archive;
- - WinRAR archiver;
- - password for the archive (if provided).
Instructions
Step 1
A multivolume archive is a single file split into several fragments. In this form, it is much easier to put it on the Internet. If the movie you downloaded is contained in a multivolume archive, you will have several parts in.rar format on your hard drive. You will need a WinRAR archiver that works with this and many other formats. The movie will look like this: film.part1.rar, film.part2.rar, film.part3.rar, etc. To unpack the entire movie, you must have all the parts of the archive. After unpacking, the archiver glues the extracted parts of the movie back into one file. Put all the pieces in one folder, right-click on the first piece and select "Extract to Current Folder". Then the archiver will do everything by itself. When you have a whole video file, you can safely delete parts of the archive.
Step 2
If the archiver requires a password during the unpacking process, enter it. The password is usually indicated on the site, on the same page where the link to the archived movie is located. When entering the password, be sure to match the case and language layout of the keyboard. If you copied the password and the archive did not open, try entering it manually. A copy error might have been made.
Step 3
If the archive is broken and the archiver informs you that the file is damaged, try downloading it again. Or select the broken archive file with the mouse and click the Repair button with the first aid kit. You will be asked to indicate the path to the folder where to save the disinfected archive and in what format - rar or zip. The disinfected file will have the prefix fixed. in the name. If the archive is multivolume, delete the broken part, and name the new one with the name of the original bit and unpack it in the usual way.
Step 4
Not all users have unlimited internet and free traffic. If you are not sure if you want to watch a movie or want to make sure that it is of acceptable quality, first download only the first part of the archive and try to start watching using one of the programs that can play videos without unpacking the archive, for example, Dziobas RAR Player. The program supports video formats avi, mpeg, mvk, dvd, ogg. But keep in mind that this program is unlikely to open a password archive.
