Modern technologies allow any computer user to edit their own video or film. This can be done using both more professional programs - Pinnacle Studio and Adobe After Effects, and standard programs included with Windows, for example, Windows Movie Maker. It is on the example of Windows Movie Maker that we will analyze the creation of a simple video.
Instructions
Step 1
Open Windows Movie Maker. It is on your computer regardless of the Windows version. To do this, use the "Start" button, the "All Programs" link.
Step 2
Click on the "Import multimedia" button and indicate to the program those files that you plan to use as material for the video, these can be video and audio files, as well as static images - photographs. The files you specified will be copied to the program's working folder - "Imported Media".
Step 3
At the bottom of the program you will see the editing area, it can be displayed in several modes (the switch button is in the lower left corner of the window): in the "Storyboard" mode and the "Timeline" mode. The latter mode gives you much more information about the editing materials: the duration of video and audio fragments, the text of the titles superimposed on the frames. Storyboard mode is useful for moving files from the Imported Media folder to the artboard, and for applying effects and transitions.
Step 4
Transfer the necessary files in the desired order to the editing area. In the "Timeline" mode, highlighting each file, adjust the duration of its display in the future video.
Step 5
Select "Transitions" from the drop-down list at the top of the window. Transition options appear that you can use between any two slices on the artboard. Customize transitions in your video by dragging and dropping them into the artboard.
Step 6
In the same way, adjust the "Effects" for each file separately.
Step 7
Insert your video title and credits if necessary. To do this, follow the link on the left side of the screen - "Titles and credits".
Step 8
Save your video by choosing one of the options in the Publish to Selected Location menu. You can save the video on your computer, on a DVD, or send it by email.
