If you have a digital camera, you probably, at least occasionally, use the opportunity to shoot small videos with it. As a rule, these videos remain independent short video fragments, and the owners do not suspect that they can be assembled into their own video. How to do it? In this article, we will walk you through the stages of making an amateur video using common computer programs.

Instructions

Step 1

Copy the captured videos to your computer, and then download and install the VirtualDub software. Open the program and load one of your videos into it. Watch the video and mark which fragments and frames you want to cut.

Step 2

To cut a piece of video in VirtualDub, set the timeline slider to the desired frame from which the extra piece begins, and click the Home button on the toolbar. Then select the last frame of the cutout fragment and press the End button. After that the fragment will be highlighted - delete it with the Delete button.

Step 3

After your video file is cleared of unnecessary frames, save it in AVI format using the Save As menu command. Pre-save the original audio track of the video using the Save WAV menu command.

Step 4

The video will increase in size, and now you need to compress it without losing quality. To do this, select the Video section in the menu and check the Full processing mode item. Then open the Compression tab and select the DivX 5.1 codec.

Step 5

Since after compressing and changing the format, the sound could be out of sync with the video, the time has come to use the audio track saved above. Open a track in WAV format separately in any sound editing program and try to clean it of noise and imperfections, making the sound cleaner and richer. Save the track as MP3.

Step 6

In VirtualDub, select No Sound from the Audio menu, and then save the file as AVI again. In the audio section, add the edited MP3 track to the video file. Open the Video menu and check the Direct stream copy checkbox. Then finally save your video file.

Step 7

If you need to process several video files in the same way, save the settings for video and audio processing - this can be done in the File menu.

Step 8

If your version of VirtualDub does not support the mpeg format, which is most often used for video recording on digital cameras, first convert the files to AVI format using another program - for example, TMpgEnk.
