With the increasing availability of the Internet, the possibilities of communication in this truly worldwide network are expanding. It's so great to communicate with different people, to learn something new, to do business. However, it is very important to correspond correctly. How to independently improve your literacy level, expand your vocabulary?

Even if you did not study well in school and in the Russian language you have a weak "3" in your certificate (which, most often, corresponds to an objective grade of "2"), as an adult you can significantly improve your literacy in writing, learn to express your thoughts in an original and interesting way.

Start with the works of great writers - learn from them, look for original expressions, rare words. Force yourself to read at least one story (short story or chapter of a novel) a day. If you do not know the meaning of some words, be sure to look for them in an explanatory dictionary.

a person who reads a lot quickly begins to write more literately, however, to further speed up this process, read long and complex words several times, slowly, preferably aloud.

I would like to draw the reader's attention to the following problem: in books published after 2000, there are much more mistakes than in Soviet ones. Try to choose books published before 1980-90.

Write

Of course, learning to write correctly without practice will not work. Divide your "writing" into several phases. Start by rewriting texts, then start arranging dictations for yourself (ask for help from relatives, acquaintances, or write from audio recordings of books). After the number of mistakes made in the texts has been significantly reduced, proceed to the expositions (pay attention not only to literacy, but also to the logic of the presentation of information, the artistic merits of your text). Remember that the complexity of the texts you are working with should gradually increase.

the ideal option at the stage of written training is to find an assistant who will keep you company, dictate, check your texts. The reverse situation is also useful - checking someone else's dictation, presentation.

After training on other people's texts, go on to create your own. Start, for example, keeping a diary, writing reviews of books you read, watching movies, and writing about everything that happens around you.

Think

Train yourself to consciously perceive the speech of others, pay attention to the subtleties of their speech, the manner of expressing themselves, analyze their mistakes. Also start to apply to all the texts that you come across in life. I do not urge you to criticize everyone in a row, however, the ability to see other people's mistakes, illogical presentation, will help you deal with your own similar problems.
