Step 1
Despite the wide variety of forms, the requirements for keeping conditions for all ficuses are practically the same. They are photophilous, but do not tolerate exposure to direct sunlight. The soil should be nutritious, but it is undesirable for the container size to greatly exceed the volume of the root system. Ficus does not like drafts, and with hypothermia of the soil, it can even shed its leaves. The desired indoor temperature is 25-30 degrees in summer and 16-20 in winter. Ficus must be watered properly.
Step 2
The optimal amount of water required is individual for each plant. It depends on many factors - age and phase of development, season and soil properties, on external conditions - illumination, air temperature. All these factors influence the rate of water consumption by the plant.
Step 3
Water the ficus not on schedule, but as needed. The degree of moistening of an earthen coma is determined by touch. Deepen your finger into the ground by 2-3 cm, and if the ficus grows in a tub, then by 5-7 cm. The soil sticks to the finger - no watering required. If the ground is dry, the plant must be watered.
Step 4
Irrigation water should be at room temperature. Loosen the soil. Water slowly so that the soil is well saturated. Water is poured several times until it starts to protrude from the drainage hole. After half an hour, drain the excess from the pallet. In summer, a deficiency is harmful. Watering should be abundant, but the soil should have time to dry before the next time. In winter, excess moisture can be harmful.
Step 5
For normal plant growth, it is also important that the relative humidity of the air is at least 50%, and preferably 70%. When kept in heated rooms, as well as in the summer heat, it is advisable to use spraying. The water should be warm and soft, hard water can leave white spots on the leaves.
