Take a few dates from your local store. Separate the seeds from the pulp, then soak the seeds for a while in warm water and make sure that there is no pulp left on them. Dry them on a paper towel and then cover them with hot water, not boiling water. Leave it for a day, the bone should swell a little. To increase the chances of the seed growing, it can be rubbed with sandpaper. And don't worry if small cracks appear on it.
We plant the seed in a pot, but not deeper than one centimeter, and water it well with pre-settled water. Cover with clear film or glass, then place in a warm, bright place. Remove the film for a while when you notice that condensation has formed. The film can be completely removed in a few weeks, as soon as the first leaves of the palm appear. After their appearance, the palm tree can slow down growth due to the active development of the root system. The date palm also feels great outdoors at a temperature of + 20 ° C and a little higher in the warm season, but it must be protected from drafts and direct sunlight.
It is better to choose a pot of small diameter, but high, since the root system of the palm is very developed.
The soil
The soil should be loose and soft. It is desirable that it consists of sod and leafy soil, as well as peat and sand. In the future, if necessary, add only turf soil to the existing soil. Provide the date palm with good drainage, so make the layer larger than usual.
The date palm is a moisture-loving plant and should be watered in the summer often, at least 2 times a week. As soon as the top layer dries a little, it is worth watering and sprinkling.
