Every person who is seriously involved in equestrian sports knows that horses need appropriate attributes. One of the elements of this paraphernalia is an ear cap, which can be bought in a specialized store or made by hand. In this article, you will learn how to crochet horse ears.
Instructions
Step 1
To match the size of the knitted beanie to the size of your horse's head, measure the distance between the ears in centimeters.
Step 2
Cast on the number of air loops corresponding to the measured length and knit a mesh. Knit a row of single crochets, then knit three stitches, skip two stitches of the row, and in the third, insert a crochet and knit a single crochet.
Step 3
Tie three air loops again and grab the arch of the previous row with a single crochet, reducing the number of arches in each subsequent row so that you get a triangular mesh. Finish knitting the mesh with the last arch of three air loops and secure the thread.
Step 4
On the two sides of the triangle, tie additional rows of arches, and on the straight side of the triangle, which is between the ears, tie a row of single crochets. Reattach the thread.
Step 5
To make holes for the ears, attach a thread to one end of the upper part of the triangle and tie three double crochets, then tie 13 stitches, skip the same number of stitches in the bottom row, tie a double crochet, three more stitches, and then skip two stitches bottom row, tie a single crochet, and repeat this step five more times. Do the same on the other side of the triangle for the second ear.
Step 6
On the first thirteen columns of the bottom row, tie a single crochet and tie the arches, then repeat the single crochet on the thirteen columns and the last three columns, then repeat these steps in the opposite direction.
Step 7
Tie a net of arches over all the loops of the bottom row, and along the side, tie a row of single crochets to smooth the edge of the net.
Step 8
Tie the triangle with 10cm tassels to decorate the beanie.
