The snowman is one of the brightest attributes of the New Year holidays, which must be used in the design of the room. Try making a simple but very cute snowman using your most ordinary socks with your own hands. You can safely involve children in this activity.
To make a snowman, you will need:
- needle;
- threads;
- felt-tip pens;
- cotton wool;
- cereal;
- buttons;
- cardboard;
- scissors.
Making a snowman with our own hands: a step-by-step master class
Cut a small circle out of the cardboard. You can use a glass for this. The circle will provide stability to the toy.
Take one of the socks. To make a snowman, it is advisable to use one white sock, and the other with a pattern. The first will be the body of the toy, and the second will go for the hat and clothes. Cut the white sock in two, roughly in the middle.
Place a cardboard circle in the half with a sock. Then add some cereal. You can take any, the best option is. Do not overdo it with cereal, as it is only needed to "weigh down" the toy so that it does not fall off later.
Stuff the snowman's body with cotton wool, and tighten the end with a thread. Just fix it well. Sew the toy with a thread and a needle so that the torso is separated from the head. You can only do this in one place, not two. Then you will have a two-piece snowman.
Take a sock with a pattern and divide it into two equal parts. The top will become a garment, and the sock will become a headdress. Dress up the snowman.
Draw the eyes with a felt-tip pen. You can use ready-made ones, they are usually sold in stores for needlewomen. A pink or orange bead will perfectly cope with the role of a spout. It must be sewn on. If you want to give your snowman a "carrot" nose, use an orange pencil rod or piece of felt for this. Fix such a nose with glue.
Tie the cap back with a thread to keep it from falling off, and sew it to your head. Do the same with the buttons, just place them on the body. Next, connect your imagination. You can tie a scarf around your neck, which is made from a sock in a contrasting color to make it stand out.
A do-it-yourself snowman from socks is ready. Place it under the tree or on the New Year's table. You can make not one snowman, but a whole family. Such decor will fill the house with a festive atmosphere.
