A self-made book is a huge scope for creative imagination. Taking a homemade book and its structure as a basis, you can easily make a beautiful designer notebook, scrapbooking album, unusual notebook, and of course you can make all these things exclusive gift souvenirs if you decorate your books and notebooks with additional accessories - painting, decoupage, artificial flowers, collages and other decorations. In this article, we will look at an easy way to quickly assemble a book from paper and cover.
Instructions
Step 1
First, think about how thick the book or notebook should be. Use just the right amount of A4 paper if you want to make a standard size book (A5).
Step 2
Divide the sheets of paper into blocks of 3-4 sheets. Sew each of the blocks exactly in the center so that they can be folded in half like a brochure. Then collect all the finished blocks together and re-sew them, already by hand, inserting the needle and thread into the already finished machine stitches. At this point, fit all the blocks of paper together so that they lie snug and even.
Step 3
Cut out the spine of the book separately from the fabric and glue it to the side of the finished assembled block of sheets with high-quality glue.
Step 4
Cut out the front and back covers from heavy cardboard, which should be slightly larger than the size of the A5 sheets. Separately cut out a rectangular cover sheet from faux leather or thick fabric.
Step 5
Use double-sided tape to glue the cardboard blanks to the left and right sides of the fabric or leather cover from the inside, so that there is enough space in the center for the spine.
Step 6
Cut out the corners of the cover and gently fold and glue the loose cover strips inward. Glue the spine with glued blocks of paper with glue to the free space between the cardboard covers.
Step 7
Glue the folded strips of fabric extending from the spine of the book to the endpapers. Cover each endpaper on top with colored paper or cardboard. Your book is ready - you can fill it with the necessary information, paste photos and take notes.
