Guitar, collection of guitar chord fingerings, songbooks

Instructions

Step 1

You need to pick up the guitar and tune it. The easiest way is to tune the guitar according to the tuner, but for better development of musical ear, you can tune the tuning fork, extracting the A note from it with a frequency of 440 Hz. Instead of a tuning fork, you can use the telephone line signal that you hear when you pick up the handset.

Step 2

You need to tune the first (thinnest) guitar string, clamped at the 5th fret, in unison with the tuning fork. Then tune the second string, which is clamped at the 5th fret, in unison with the first string open. The third string must be clamped for tuning not at the 5th fret, but at the 4th fret. When pressed in this way, it should sound in unison with the open second string. Tune the bass strings this way: the fourth at the 5th fret is in unison with the third open, the fifth at the fifth fret with the fourth fret open, and the sixth fret with the fifth open. If you don't feel like tuning by ear, use a tuner.

Step 3

The standard tuning of a six-string guitar is Mi-Si-Sol-Re-La-Mi. There are other tunings, but they are not needed yet.

Immediately, you need to memorize the letter designations of notes and chords, because they are mainly used in songbooks. So, the note Do is denoted by the Latin letter C, Re - D, Mi - E, Fa - F, Sal - G, A - A, Si - H (in the American system - B), B flat - B (in the American system - Bb).

Step 4

When you have learned the lettering, you can begin to memorize the fingering of chords, that is, how to place them on the fretboard. Chord guides can be found on the internet. Start learning with simple major and minor triads. Learn in pairs, for example, first in A major (A), then in A minor (Am), etc.

Step 5

As you learn chords, practice small, easy songs of three to four chords. First, just play them, then try to sing to them, getting into the right key. After a few weeks of rehearsals, you will be able to sing and play something simple. As your skill grows, you can try to play more complex things.

Step 6

In order not to complicate your life, it is convenient to immediately rehearse several variants of the strumming used in a particular song. Now you can start to delight your fans and female fans.
