You are unable to heat water, cook food due to an interruption in the power supply for an indefinite period, and you will not be able to use gas due to its lack, or do you need a compact source of smokeless fire? A gas lighter in this capacity will rarely be sufficient. there is little fuel in it, it must be kept pressed, and metal elements in contact with fire quickly overheat. And the volume of the flame itself is not enough. But you can make a homemade spirit lamp.
It is necessary
A thick book, a marker, two empty 0.33 ml aluminum cans, an awl or other similar sharp instrument, ordinary scissors, a piece of cotton wool, a knife or a small block of wood
Instructions
Step 1
Take one of two identical aluminum beverage cans.
Step 2
In a thick book, hold a felt-tip pen or fine marker between the pages about three centimeters above the table top. Let him look out of the book just a couple of centimeters. Place the jar with its bottom down and draw a circle around the writing element in the horizontal plane by rotating the jar around its axis. There should be a closed path for the future cutting line.
Step 3
Take stationery scissors. Along the circle marked with a marker, carefully separate the top of the can from the bottom. The top one can be thrown away.
Step 4
Do the same for the second can. But before that, it is necessary to flare the bottom of the whole can (expand the diameter) the neck of the bottom from the first can. Insert the bottom of the second, pressing and rotating the whole jar evenly. Try not to wrinkle or break the thin aluminum walls. In fact, the metal will gradually be stretched to a slightly larger diameter.
Step 5
After the previous step, there should be two almost identical bottoms from the cans. Try flipping the second piece over and sticking it into the first. Since it is of the original diameter, and the expanded one is larger, the second part should neatly fit into the first.
Step 6
In the second day, from the outside, make a central hole with an awl and evenly around the nearby four more. It will look like a "five" on the dominoes.
Step 7
Put cotton wool in the first part, and close it deeper with the second bottom on top. It is necessary that a small side remains from the first part, which along the perimeter of the circle with the handle of a knife, close it towards the center. This will achieve the stability of the parts relative to each arc. And it will be problematic to cut yourself on the side.
Step 8
On the same side where the holes were previously made, stick about sixteen more, but along the midline of the perimeter of the cone. The design will take the form of a burner. And alcohol will make it a kind of working fuel.
Step 9
Refuel the spirit lamp with fuel, no more than two-thirds of the volume. Alcohol can be pumped in with a syringe. Pour in about twenty cubic millimeters through the center hole and pour a couple of cubes onto the surface. This is necessary so that the alcohol burning from above warms up the inner volume of the spirit lamp and increases the volatility of its vapors. Further, they will rush independently through the circumferential holes for ignition.
Step 10
Place the spirit lamp on the stand, as it heats up as it burns. It may be a low, empty tin can, turned upside down.
Step 11
Light the alcohol poured from the outside with a match and wait for the burner to go into operation. To extinguish the spirit lamp, it is enough to briefly shut off the air supply to it, quickly cover it with an inverted cup.
