A snowmobile is a very convenient vehicle in operation, especially on snow-covered impassable winter roads. It is not so easy to make them yourself, so it makes sense to consider in more detail a simple model of a snowmobile.
Instructions
Step 1
When making a snowmobile, start by making the hull. Make it completely wooden with a basic piece of spruce board (220 * 22 * 4.5 cm).
Step 2
Make the rear pillars 10 * 4 * 5 cm in size. Make the braces and crossbars from birch bars 105 * 2, 5 * 4 cm in size. Make the fasteners for the rear pillars to the body with spike and reinforce it with sheet steel. Also reinforce the engine mounts with steel.
Step 3
Using pieces of metal pipe, reinforce the hinge points where the steering axle, tie rod and swing beam join.
Step 4
Cut the wind shield out of thin plywood, attach it to the base with 3 M8 bolts. Install a regular motorcycle headlight on the front of the shield, and the battery behind.
Step 5
When manufacturing the engine, combine the cylinder from the IZH-56 and the starting engine from the PD-10 M tractor (or an analogue). Fit the piston from PD-10 M under the cylinder. Connect the standard control cable with the so-called gas pedal using a silk thread. This will give you throttle control.
Step 6
Change the engine itself to reverse rotation, mount the starting cord (length about 2 m) on the flywheel - this will start the engine. Make the propeller from birch wood in size from 1 m and attach it to the engine flywheel with 4 M10 bolts using a wooden spacer, also reinforced with sheet steel.
Step 7
Also make snowmobile skis from birch wood, revetting them with galvanized iron, and then fix them with a hinge using a steel bar and two bushings.
Step 8
Remember that the rotating screw of a snowmobile is a dangerous thing, so to avoid injury, make a fence, for example, in the form of a thin lattice around its circumference. Make a scraper brake, a lever, the lower part of which is equipped with a small spatula. Give your unit an aesthetic look by painting and varnishing the body.
