A hat is a wardrobe item that a person always needs: in winter - for warmth, in summer - from the sun. There are many ways to knit this thing. Needlewomen are in constant search and create more and more new models. You can knit a hat yourself, even if you have mastered only the front and back loops.

Step 1
Before you start knitting your hats, measure the circumference of your head. Focusing on your size, dial the required number of loops on the knitting needles. Consider the composition of the threads and their thickness.
Step 2
Knit with an elastic band: 2 front loops, 2 purl or 1 front, 1 purl. You can also choose the following combination: 1 purl loop, 3 knit stitches. After about 10 cm from the beginning of knitting, decrease 1 loop on both sides of the product. Work a few more rows with the elastic band and then subtract again. Continue knitting with the elastic band until the end - about 10 cm.
Step 3
Finish the work as follows: cut off about 35 cm of yarn, pull the thread through the loops of the last row. Tighten. It turned out the top of the hat. With the remaining end of the thread, use a crochet or needle to sew the sides of the cap on the wrong side.
Step 4
The knitted hat can be left as it is. But it will look more interesting if you add a pompom, ears, or decorate with hand-knitted flowers, or sew on rhinestones. You can make a hat in the shape of an animal's face: crochet and sew on eyes, nose, mouth.
Step 5
Make a pom-pom for a hat: take a small piece of cardboard, wind the threads around it. The width of the cardboard and the amount of yarn wound will determine how fluffy the pompom will turn out to be. Carefully remove the threads from the base, connect them in the middle, cut the threads on both sides. Using the free end of the thread with which you tied the pompom, sew to the hat, fluff it up. Crochet the ears for the hat in the form of ovals or semi-ovals.
