Several years ago, the State Inspection for Small Vessels obliged all owners of inflatable boats and other small water transport to register their floating craft. The registration procedure is similar to registering a car, that is, the boat is assigned its own unique registration number, which must be applied to the side of the boat. And here the problem arises - how to put the number on the boat?
It is necessary
Thick paper or cardboard, drawing supplies, knife, plastic, paint
Instructions
Step 1
The regulations of the State Inspectorate for Small Vessels require the registration number to be securely applied or affixed to the side of the boat. It must be clearly visible and readable. However, the rules do not answer the question of how exactly is the best way to apply the number. There are several ways to apply the number. If your boat is wooden or made of PVC, you can neatly cut the registration plate on board. To do this, make a stencil of your number. A stencil can be made from a sheet of thick paper or cardboard. Attach this stencil to the side of the boat so that the number is clearly visible and readable. After that, with a white pencil or crayon, circle all the letters and numbers in the stencil. Remove the stencil. Carefully cut or hollow out all marks along the marked contour so that they are deeper than the surface of the bead.
Step 2
The above method has a minus, since over time, the carved number becomes unreadable or disappears altogether under the influence of water. Therefore, there is another similar way. It is possible to apply the registration number with paint according to the stencil made. In this case, you need to choose the paint so that the number written by it stands out clearly on the side. The paint must be moisture resistant. However, this number will have to be updated from time to time.
Step 3
It is very easy to paint the registration plate, but you will have to constantly update it. In order not to waste time on painting the license plate, you can make three-dimensional symbols of the license plate and attach them to the board. You need to decide on the material from which you will make the symbols. You can take a tree, but it will have to be treated with a special compound so that it does not deteriorate under the influence of water. Iron symbols can also be crafted. Such letters are durable, but in the presence of moisture, iron and wood can enter into a chemical reaction with each other and the wood under such symbols can begin to deteriorate. Therefore, the most optimal material for making symbols is plastic. She is not absolutely not afraid of water. Plastic symbols can be made by yourself using a pre-prepared stencil and attached to the board using bolts or self-tapping screws.
Step 4
There is one more way. It is the most expensive one. You can order a registration number in a special office that deals with this. You will be provided with numbers that will not deteriorate under the influence of external factors. It is also possible to buy rooms with electric lighting, with which you will be able to recognize your boat even in the dark. It is worth noting that such numbers are very reminiscent of car numbers, so their frame will also be made to your order.
