Using only paper, you can fold awesome gifts, holiday decorations, eye-catching crafts, or customize and package your gift. The art of paper folding is quite ancient and fascinating, and it also develops constructive thinking. Folding origami is not difficult. You should start with simpler models and gradually increase the complexity of the tasks.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - model diagram.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare your paper. Standard origami paper is a 15 cm square and should be thin and strong and hold the folds well. If you don't have special paper, you can start with A4 sheets. You can use white sheets first, and then switch to colored paper.
Step 2
It is often required to make a square out of a sheet. To do this, fold one short side of the sheet to the adjacent long side, align them, and flatten the fold. Cut the remaining rectangle. Rectangular sheets of paper of different sizes are also used (for the boat shown in the figure, for example).
Step 3
Learn to read diagrams and patterns. If the diagram is clear enough for any student, you only need a little spatial imagination in order to read it and remember the signs and symbols, then the patterns are much more complicated. This is a modern abbreviated version of the diagram, which shows all the fold lines at once, resulting from the addition of the figure. Imagine that you have unfurled an already finished shape, and you will see all the fold lines at once. Typically, in patterns, folds are indicated either with two colors, or with dashed and continuous lines. This means that some folds will be a "valley", others - a "mountain", ie. are opposite in terms of convexity or concavity.
Step 4
Learn basic paper folding patterns. This is a template for making snake, fish, bird, frog, catamaran, pancake, water bomb and double square. The main folding method is a valley or mountain fold. A valley fold is obtained when you fold the paper over yourself, a mountain fold if you fold it away from you. This should be taken into account because in complex schemes, simple shapes are often omitted, and it can be written "start with the shape of a square".
Step 5
When folding the shape, hold the piece of paper exactly as shown in the image and follow the steps in sequence. The symbols will help you navigate the process of folding the sheet. It is easy to understand them in simple figures, but as soon as you get your hands on it, it is also easy to master complex figures - animals, flowers and people.
