For those who live near water bodies, a homemade boat is a must. Not everyone has the opportunity to purchase a boat, boat or yacht. In this case, ingenuity and a desire to do something with your own hands can come to the rescue.
Instructions
Step 1
Purchase or draw drawings of the future boat yourself, write down the length, width and thickness of all parts to millimeters, make sure that stability is not compromised. Calculate the amount of materials required for the construction and all the necessary tools for assembling the boat. Make sure of the good quality of the raw materials you use and positive reviews of the tool manufacturing companies.
Step 2
Make it yourself or order the details of the future boat. If you decide to purchase one, check each board, and if you are not satisfied with the quality of at least one part, return it to the manufacturer and ask for a replacement.
Step 3
Lay out the finished parts on the floor. Start collecting the boat from the sides. To do this, place the corresponding boards with the marks up, and put the middle frame between them. Then mark all the places where the parts will be attached, drill holes and connect the sides to the middle frame. Install and secure the stem and transom in the same way.
Step 4
Connect both bottom boards to each other and install the bottom on the body. After that, sew the hull, moving from the bow of the boat to its stern. Cover all joints with masking tape to prevent glue from leaking out. Then turn over the assembled structure, cover it with glue and glue it with fiberglass. Remove air bubbles from under the glass cloth.
Step 5
Apply thinned epoxy adhesive to all surfaces and remove the adhesive tape from the bottom of the resulting structure. Sand and tape all corners, then clean all surfaces.
Step 6
Go to collecting add-ons. Use the schemes according to which they were made, and step by step repeat all the actions that you performed when assembling the frame and bottom of the future boat. After the final cleaning of the superstructure, paint the boat with 2 coats of epoxy paint and 2 coats of enamel paint.
