Some old sweaters don't belong in the trash heap. These clothes are useful for creating stylish warm accessories. You can sew a whole set from one sweater yourself: a hat, mittens and a shirt front. In cold weather, such products are useful for both adults and children.

It is necessary

  • - a whole sweater with a throat;
  • - paper;
  • - threads;
  • - scissors;
  • - needle;
  • - centimeter;
  • - pencil / marker
  • - pins;
  • - PVA glue.

Instructions

Step 1

Use the "body" of the sweater to sew the hats. Measure and record the circumference of your head in centimeters and the desired length of the hat (considering whether it will hang slightly or sit back to back). Set aside the data from the bottom of the sweater. Up the seam - the length, exactly along the bottom - the width, divided by 2. Leave 1-1.5 cm allowances on each cut side (side and top).

Step 2

If desired, give the future hat a shape. For example, round off the top corners a little or a lot - this will give the accessory a good fit. However, these manipulations can be avoided. In the latter version, the hat will have a fashionable rectangular shape, and when you put it on, you can make a spectacular fold. Sew the side and top sides. If the sweater is very "crumble", process the edges with overlock or PVA glue.

Step 3

To get a set, sew mittens from an old sweater to the hat. Use sleeves to create them. Place your palm on a piece of paper and circle. Shape the sketch into a flat mitten. Draw the pattern by adding a 1 cm allowance.

Step 4

Attach the created pattern to the sleeve and pin it to the fabric. Cut out blanks for the future mittens. Also use the second sleeve, mirroring the pattern. Sew mittens from an old sweater, paying special attention to the place at the thumb: there should not be a hole there.

Step 5

Use the leftover sweater to make a do-it-yourself bib, which will come in handy in cold weather. Step back about 10 cm from the collar (vary this figure based on your preferences and the size of the remaining part). Draw a semicircle going up to the shoulder seams. Please note: it is necessary to strictly adhere to the selected distance so that the shirt-front turns out to be even. After adding 1-1.5 cm for processing, trim off excess material.

Step 6

Carefully process the bottom of the shirt front, otherwise it may begin to crumble or creep. Use overlock or glue. Sheathing the edge with tape or lace will also help prevent shedding. If you do not want to put the collar over your head every time, open the seam on one side and decorate it with buttons. A warm bib from an old sweater will become a stylish and comfortable replacement for scarves.
