It is difficult to imagine a real artist without a tablet mounted on an easel. This wood base keeps your creation intact until finished. The unfinished drawing can be carried, installed indoors or outdoors. It is important for a beginner to learn how to properly stretch the paper on the tablet - the image quality will directly depend on this.
It is necessary
- - the tablet;
- - PVA glue (polyvinyl acetate);
- - brush;
- - spray bottle or sponge;
- - pencil;
- - blade or clerical knife.
Instructions
Step 1
Buy a tablet from a specialty art store, or try making one yourself. For a homemade product, take a sheet of plywood and place the paper of the desired size on it. Draw the outline of the future product, taking into account the paper hem (the workpiece is fitted on all sides). So, for an A2 sheet, you need a 55 × 40 cm plywood cut.
Step 2
Saw the workpiece along the contour with a jigsaw. Nail the slats around the perimeter from the wrong side. If necessary, carefully sand rough wood surfaces with sandpaper - first with a coarser grit (marking P40-60), then with a fine abrasive (P180-220). Now you can start wrapping the finished tablet with paper.
Step 3
Determine the work surface of the paper sheet. To do this, slide your palm over it and make a few strokes with a pencil - the lead (like paints) will lie better on a rough surface. This is the face of your tablet.
Step 4
Dampen the paper with a spray bottle or sponge, being careful to process it as evenly as possible. While the sheet is absorbing moisture, clean the board and apply a thin layer of PVA glue to the corners and edges of the tablet. Be careful not to get the product on the front side of the workpiece!
Step 5
Begin wrapping the tablet. Waves will surely appear on the soggy sheet - they will all stretch in one direction. Gently stretch the paper in this direction and place it on the workpiece.
Step 6
Tuck the edges of the sheet one by one, press them against the sides of the base and smooth them well. When the covered tablet is completely dry, the wrinkles on it will be smoothed out. At the end of the work with the easel, you just need to carefully cut the drawing with a razor blade or a clerical knife.
