A napkin, as a rule, is a decoration for any festive table. It is not at all necessary to buy it, you can make a napkin with your own hands. Try making a party napkin with pom poms.
It is necessary
- - waffle cotton fabric;
- - narrow zigzag braid in two colors;
- - wide zigzag braid;
- - acrylic or wool yarn;
- - white thick threads;
- - fork.
Instructions
Step 1
Cut a circle of the correct size from the waffle cotton fabric. After it is cut out, sew the edges on a sewing machine with a stitch called "zigzag". Then hem the blank of the future napkin by 0.5 centimeters. Next, decorate the product with braid. It needs to be alternated, that is, first sew a narrow one, then a wide one, then a narrow one again. There should be a distance of at least 2 centimeters between each strip of tape. By the way, do not forget to change the thread on the sewing machine to match the braid.
Step 2
Now you can start making pom-poms. For this we need a 4-prong fork. Insert acrylic or woolen thread under the 2 central teeth, then start winding the thread with a figure eight, that is, insert it under the left teeth, then under the right ones. Do this all the way to the end of the fork tines.
Step 3
Take a piece of white thick thread 20 centimeters long. It needs to be threaded between the center teeth of the fork. To do this, one end of the thread must be inserted from the bottom of the yarn, and the other from above. This will create a loop.
Step 4
Then you need to take off the future pompom. Do this very carefully, gradually pulling on the white thread. As a result, the thread should be tightly tied to the yarn. You do not need to cut off its ends, as they will come in handy in order to sew the pompom to the napkin. The number of such small items depends on the size of the item.
Step 5
After the required number of pom-poms is ready, you can sew them on. This should be done along the edge of the product, and so that the distance between the pom-poms is at least 10 centimeters. The festive napkin is ready! By the way, it is perfect for a holiday like Easter.
