Chameleon is a mysterious creature resembling a fairy dragon. To draw this lizard, stock up on pastel crayons, watercolors or acrylics - the "portrait" of a chameleon should be multicolored.
It is necessary
- - drawing paper;
- - pencil;
- - eraser;
- - brushes of different thickness;
- - acrylic paints of different colors.
Instructions
Step 1
Browse through pictures and photos of the chameleon. He has a streamlined body, a large head with bulging eyes, a long tail, strongly tapering towards the end and curling into a ring. Some species have a spectacular crest on the back. And of course, the main distinguishing feature of the chameleon is the unique ability to change color depending on the environment.
Step 2
The lizard looks most impressive in profile. Draw a chameleon frozen on a tree branch, surrounded by leaves and flowers. Stock up on sharpened pencils and a set of acrylic paints - they will perfectly convey the color transitions on the lizard's body.
Step 3
On a piece of paper, sketch out the outlines of the branch and body of the lizard. Draw a horizontal line in the center of the sheet, draw an elongated oval in its center. At one end, draw a triangle with a wide base that goes into the oval, at the other, draw a line going down and curled into a ring. The chameleon silhouette is ready.
Step 4
Draw the outlines of the body and head. Use light pencil strokes to draw a slightly curved back with a hint of a comb. Connect the torso to the head. Sharpen your muzzle - it should slightly resemble a beak. Draw a line for the closed mouth and draw a large, round eye.
Step 5
Draw tenacious paws with which the chameleon is holding onto a branch. The lizard's tail can hang down in a tight ring or twine around a branch. Erase the extra lines with an eraser and start coloring the picture.
Step 6
On a plastic palette, mix green and yellow paints, lightly dilute them with water to get a translucent tone. With a wide soft brush, apply it to the background of the picture, carefully tracing the contours of the branch and the chameleon. In some places, add more greenery to imitate the leaves of a tree. Dry the background - it should be light so that the silhouette of the lizard stands out clearly.
Step 7
Using a brush, take a dark green paint and apply it to the sketch of the lizard in large strokes. Dry the acrylic. On the palette, mix brown and light green paints and use light strokes to go over the dark green color, achieving the effect of translucent tones. Dry the drawing. If the color seems to you insufficiently saturated, the technique can be repeated.
Step 8
The peculiarity of acrylic is that the layers of paint are applied in light layers, without creating the effect of a dirty spot. On top of the picture, apply light highlights with golden yellow paint, imitating the sun shimmer. Use a thin brush to add small strokes and dots of brown and red.
Step 9
Paint a tree branch with brown paint. Apply the paint with strokes that imitate the texture of the bark. Using a thin brush, take some black or dark brown acrylic and lightly outline the outline of the chameleon. Draw the mouth, eyes, paws with fingers holding on to a branch. Carefully place the shadows on the lower torso and the inside of the tail.
