Buttons covered with fabric are widely used in needlework. They can perform both decorative functions and be used for their intended purpose, as fasteners. It is not difficult to make such buttons on your own.
It is necessary
- - buttons on the leg with a removable base;
- - the cloth;
- - scissors;
- - needle with thread.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the button by carefully separating the base from the top (cap). Choose the fabric that will fit the button. The material should be reasonably thin and elastic.
Step 2
Measure the diameter of your button head. On a piece of fabric with the desired pattern, draw a circle whose diameter will be 1.5 times the diameter of the head. Match the button head with the circle you draw on the fabric. The image of the picture should not go beyond the boundaries of the cap. Cut a circle out of the fabric. If the edges of the fabric are prone to shedding, then they can be strengthened. To do this, it is enough to apply a thin layer of PVA glue to the edges of the cut out circle of fabric.
Step 3
Sew a seam on your hands along the diameter of the cut out circle. Make the stitches small (two to three millimeters). This will help to gather the edges of the fabric evenly. Leave both ends of the thread free.
Step 4
Place the buttonhead, feet up, in the center of the circle you cut out. Pull on both ends of the thread, evenly gathering the edges of the fabric. Achieve a snug fit with the fabric. Tie the ends of the thread in a double knot or make a soft, bulky button. To do this, put a little padding polyester between the fabric and the button. It is quite elastic, easily compressed, allowing you to fasten a button. At the same time, after compression, it quickly takes on its original shape.
Step 5
Assemble the button by aligning the base with the cap. You can further strengthen the details of the button. To do this, first apply a thin layer of glue to the upper part of the base.
Step 6
Make the rest of the buttons in the same way.
