Biography
Dev Patel was born on 23 April 1990 to Anita and Raj Gujariti Indians in the London Borough of Harrow, England. The cast had moved from the sizable Indian community of Nairobi and stayed in London, where they met by chance. The family was far from creative activity: the mother was a care worker, and the father worked as an IT consultant.
As a child, parents insisted on a passion for martial arts in order to find a way out of the child's turbulent energy and redirect it to a more peaceful channel. Patel began training at the Rayners Lane Academy of Taekwondo in 2000 and has grown to become a professional athlete. Regularly improving his skills, he won prizes in competitions, and now he is the owner of a black belt in taekwondo.
The future actor was brought up in the Hindu faith, he speaks English and the Gujarati language, which is widespread in the state of Gujarat, which belongs to the Indo-Aryan group of the Indo-European language family. He grew up in Harrow's Rainers Lane and completed his secondary education at Longfield Middle School, where he landed his first role as Sir Andrew Aguken in Twelfth Night. He was given the Best Actor Award for his performance. Later, Patel attended Whitmore High School, and graduated with excellent marks in the certificate for his "self-composed" image of a child under siege of the Beslan school. His teacher Niam Wright stated, "Dev was a talented student who quickly impressed me with his innate ability to adapt creatively to the right character for the stage."

Anita Patel saw an advertisement for the casting on the subway and took him to the audition the next day, despite her son's strict training schedule. After a couple of auditions, he was cast as Anwar Harral, a British-Pakistani Muslim teenager. The writers had to rewrite some parts of the script to make the episodes more emotional, and the creator of the series noted that they did not even dream of such an actor. The first episodes of the show aired in January 2007 on E4. In 2008, the series was nominated for a BAFTA and won The Rose d'Or.
In 2008, the emerging actor made his debut in the feature film Slumdog Millionaire, which brought him worldwide fame and a collection of awards: British Independent Film Award, Critics Choice Award, CFCA Award, NBR Award and PFCS Award ".
