Knitting from ribbons of different sizes and textures allows you to create interesting textured models, decorate products with lush ruffles and openwork. Recently, this is a relevant trend in clothing fashion, so a lot of ribbon (or ribbon-like) yarn has appeared on sale. From it, you can quickly make a canvas of the desired size, while the material consumption is small. It is important to take into account some of the features of working with ribbons, then you can favorably emphasize the beauty and uniqueness of the things related to them.
It is necessary
- - ribbon yarn;
- - thick knitting needles.
Instructions
Step 1
Choose only thick knitting needles for knitting from ribbon yarn - from No. 5, 6 and thicker. If you work with knitting needles of smaller numbers, then even from the narrowest silk ribbon you will get an extremely dense fabric. The beauty of textured yarn will be lost. Tie several small knitting patterns with different tools until you find the best one.
Step 2
Think over the pattern that you will knit with ribbons. From not too wide ribbons, you can make large garter and hosiery knitting. It is recommended to alternate a simple canvas with openwork, broaches between the loops, otherwise the tapes will simply not be visible. They are decorative in themselves, so you should not knit too complex embossed patterns.
Step 3
One of the safest options for knitting with ribbons is a pattern of elongated loops. Make a sample of it. In the first row, tie an edge loop, then a front loop. After knitting another front loop, wrap the ribbon 3 times around the knitting needle and finish the row according to the pattern. In the end, do not forget about the last, edging, loop of the row.
Step 4
In the second row, you will be pulling the stitches. After the edging, make the purl; remove the next loop as if it were a simple purl loop. The nakida formed in the previous row must be dropped and the loops pulled out. The tape must go in front of the loop! Work in this way to the end of the row until the last pair of eyelets remains. You will have one purl, the other hem.
Step 5
Proceed to the third row of the pattern of elongated ribbons. It should start with an edge and front, end with a front and edge. Between these loops, repeat the following pattern element: one front loop; one is removed as purl. Note that the ribbon yarn is now passing behind the loop!
Step 6
The last, fourth, row of the rapport (the finished repeating part of the knitted pattern), knit in the following sequence: hem and purl; next purl; the loop is removed untied, like a purl; tape - in front of the loop. At the end of the row - purl and edge loops.
Step 7
Choose a knitted garment based on the type of ribbon yarn. For example, there are wide ribbons, along the upper edge of which the thread runs. Such material is ideal for tying things with ruffles, for knitting a textured frill scarf, skirts and other lush details of clothing.
Step 8
When knitting with such ribbons, grab the upper thread with knitting needles and sew the front loops. The thread is sewn along the upper edge so that large loop-arcs are formed. When knitting each arch, the assemblies will turn out to be less lush. If you grab the arcs with a working knitting needle through one, you can get thicker, richer ruffles.
