Step 1
If you have chosen a worm as bait, you can plant it in three ways. The first way is to plant one worm. The large worm is pierced in three places. Small or medium, it is enough to pierce in two. The second way is to pin several worms. Three worms are put on the hook and move further along the line. The last worm is put on the tackle in the same way as in the first method. The worms planted earlier go down to the hook. The third way is to plant a very large worm. It is pierced several times. Then the last part of the worm is put on the hook. Ideally, most of the worm's body should be on the hook.
Step 2
Your bait is maggot. You can put one or several maggots on the hook. The amount of maggots used in the bait depends on the size of the fish and the depth of the reservoir. The maggot should not cover the sharp edge of the hook with its body. If this happens, it will be difficult for you to hook the fish. Therefore, it is necessary to control the hook every time you cast.
Step 3
Planting bloodworms. Plant bloodworms with dry hands, as they are damp and stick to your fingers. Take the bloodworm with two fingers. Its dark head should look up. Hold the bloodworm gently without squeezing it. The bloodworm has several phalanges. Pierce the second and third phalanx with the sting of the hook. Then quickly push the bait onto the hook. If you pierce the bloodworm from below, then the fish that pecks at it can rip it off the hook.
Step 4
It is better to plant live bait directly in the water. If this is not possible, take the bait with wet hands or a damp cloth. This will preserve the slimy layer of the fish. Live bait can be planted in the head, tail or behind the back. If you pierce the bait in the head area, the hook is attached to the lips. This method is suitable for fishing in strong currents. Using the tail, pierce the crochet through the body. Try not to hit the ridge. For fishing with a weak current or from the bottom, live bait is placed behind the back, threading a hook under the upper fin.
