Details add a special charm to the interior. Paintings, stained glass inserts in the interior doors, exquisite patterns on the mirrors in the hallway or on the mirrored doors of the wardrobe. But these delights are quite expensive. And once again, we prefer to save money and refuse unusual artistic details. And you can, after all, decorate the interior yourself. And in this case, you will have another reason to be proud.

It is necessary

  • - Alcohol for degreasing surfaces;
  • - Transparent acrylic film;
  • - Sharp paper knife;
  • - Paste for glass etching;
  • - Stencil aerosol glue;
  • - Structural gel;
  • - Metal or rubber spatula;
  • - Latex gloves;
  • - Mirror.

Instructions

Step 1

Stencil making. Choose the pattern you would like to use or draw your own. This can be an imitation of frosty patterns or Celtic ornaments, or a pattern from old embroidery. In short, any pattern suitable for a stencil. Place the acrylic stencil film on the pattern, transfer it with a felt-tip pen to the surface of the film. Cut out the stencil with a sharp knife. You may have to try several times before you get one that works.

Step 2

Mirror preparation. Degrease the mirror surface with alcohol or vodka. Spray the stencil with a can of glue and gently attach it to the mirror. Make sure that the stencil fits snugly against the surface, so that there are no gaps or voids anywhere.

Step 3

Application of the paste. Using a rubber or metal spatula, apply the paste to the stencil. Apply the paste evenly, being careful not to overstep the boundaries of the drawing. Be very careful. The engraving paste contains strong acid and cannot be corrected. After 15-20 minutes, the paste can be washed off under running water. First remove the paste itself, then rinse off the stencil with warm water. Dry it. A uniform matte pattern will remain on the mirror. It is very durable, the mirror can be washed with any detergent.

Step 4

Adding decor. Now add some decorative details. Apply structure gel to the engraved matte pattern. Add it to the center of individual parts of the drawing or around the edges, as your imagination tells you. After drying, the gel will become hard and resemble frozen crystals. If you want, you can paint the gel after drying with acrylic paints. In this case, the crystals will appear to be made of colored glass, but they can no longer be washed with detergents.
