It is necessary

  • - A computer;
  • - sound recording program;
  • - microphone with headphones / voice recorder;
  • - preparation of the song.

Instructions

Step 1

Have a plan for your remix. It is important to understand that the remix focuses on specific parts of the song, such as a three-second drum roll. He helps to create it in a new way. You can slow down or speed up this element to add a different mood to the song. Also, different elements can be layered on top of each other. These are the points you need to think about.

Step 2

Choose a song. Ask yourself what part of the song really captures your interest? Is it a solo or a guitar? Is it just vocal noises? Irrelevant. Record the parts of the song that you want to use in the remix.

Step 3

Open your recording software. Use a computer microphone or voice recorder to record sound directly into the program itself. Both devices will work. But it's best to write directly into the program so that there is no background noise. In it, click the "start" button, then "control panel". Next - "sounds and audio devices", after - the button "Advanced". The volume control window will open. In the "settings" find "record" and click "OK". And click on "stereo mixer".

Step 4

Listen to the song one last time. Pay attention to the signals you want to use. Think of interesting ways to combine them to create your own unique remix.

Step 5

Start recording your inserts. While playing a song, press the red record button whenever you hear your selected sections of the song. Recording will begin and as soon as you hear the end of the signals, click on "stop".

Step 6

Click the play button and listen to the total. Is this what you wanted to hear? Most likely, you will not be able to do this the first time, so overwrite the excerpts. Let's say you started recording late and finished early. This happens a lot.

Step 7

Place the indicator in the place of the recording that you want to cut. It's under all the buttons. Listen to your passage and press stop in the places you want to cut. Always save your results! Once you have received the fragment you want to remix, click on the "edit" function and the "cut" button. You will receive your snippet and the rest of the song will be shortened.

Step 8

Record the remaining signals in the same way. You are now ready to remix.

Step 9

Open the first signal you want to work with. Go to the Effects folder and you will see a series of options: increase volume, decrease volume, increase speed, decrease speed, add echo, and vice versa. Use these settings according to your task. Modify your saved signals in the same way.

Step 10

Go to the "edit" menu and select "insert file", this will place the indicator on your records. This is needed to create a track sequence. Save the resulting sequence under a different name.

Step 11

Use the "mix" option to create your complete remix of the selected song from the sequence you created.
