When knitting, it is important to pay special attention to the individual cut details. Sometimes, from their implementation, the product is completely transformed. Such a functional element of work as a bar can become not only a necessity, but also the main decoration of a knitted model. It can be made in the same style on the neckline, shelves and pockets. Try different knitting options for the plank - make it smooth or decorate with a simple embossed pattern.

Instructions
Step 1
Learn to correctly calculate the number of loops required to knit a plank. Your task is to collect such a number of thread bows, at which the finished knitted bar does not begin to gather in ugly assemblies (too many loops are typed!) Or pull together the edges of the product (there are not enough loops!).
Step 2
Try casting loops with medium yarn for a simple straight placket. At the transverse edge of the front or back, pull one eyelet from each loop below. To do this, insert a knitting needle under the edge walls, grab the working thread and pull out the neat bow.
Step 3
Focus on the rows of edging loops when you type the loops for the placket on the longitudinal edge of the product. For accuracy, divide the edge into sections about 1 cm long - each such segment should include 4 edge rows.
Step 4
On each centimeter of the knitted fabric edge, you should cast on 3 loops. Please note: the walls of the edge loops must be gripped completely!
Step 5
Knit a placket of the desired height with the front stitch and close the loops of the last row. Never tighten the last tabs too tight, so as not to deform the bar!
Step 6
Do not forget to make holes for the buttons in the place of the fastener. For each, close 2-3 loops (depending on the size of the button). In the next row above the resulting hole, dial the same number of air loops and continue working.
Step 7
Practice making the original patterned plank. A product decorated around the edges with the so-called "rice" (or "pearl pattern") looks good. To achieve a fine "gritty" relief, it is necessary to perform a 1x1 elastic band in the first row (alternating the front and back loops).
Step 8
In the next row, knit the front loops over the purl loops, and the purl loops over the front loops. Continue to offset the pattern along the pattern.
