Step 1
Review all footage from start to finish, or the entire movie if it's ready. When you watch, write down the most important points in a notebook. Start by selecting the dialogue scenes. Your task is to choose several key phrases. They can characterize heroes or situations in which they find themselves. The phrases that you choose should contain not direct indications of the content of the film and the meaning of the main events, but some hints, hooks that the viewer will have to "fall for". If you take the dialogues in which the meaning of the whole picture is revealed, then the viewer will have enough of the trailer, he will not be interested in watching the whole movie. After all, everything will already be clear.
Step 2
Make a rough cut of the trailer. Typically, trailers use key scenes with and without dialogue, credits, voiceover to convey the main meaning. Music and editing - for emotional tension and artistic effect. The trailer should be edited dynamically enough for the viewer to realize in 2-3 minutes that he wants to watch this film. Therefore, put in the trailer some simply beautiful, from your point of view, frames so that the viewer's eye wants to return to these pictures again, but in the film.
Step 3
Remember that there are scenes that will appeal to any viewer. Of course, these scenes are related to the love story in your movie. Kisses, hugs - include such scenes in the trailer boldly and be sure that the movie will want to see. Try to include in the trailer different emotional states of the characters - from tears to happy laughter. Then the viewer will understand that the film will have the opportunity to laugh and cry, and this is exactly what he needs - to live a real life with the characters.
