It is not difficult to depict a mosque - for this, the simplest knowledge of the laws of perspective is enough. You will also need suitable photographs as a reference. However, you do not need to copy the images - relying on the canons of construction, create your own mosque. Imagine - decorate buildings with paintings, mosaics, unusual color combinations.

It is necessary

  • - white paper for drawing or sketching;
  • - the pencils;
  • - eraser;
  • - a set of watercolors;
  • - brushes.

Instructions

Step 1

Find paintings or photographs of different mosques. Review them, noting the features of the structure of the building. The mosque consists of a central building, sometimes with a courtyard, and attached minaret towers. Their number in different mosques varies from one to nine.

Step 2

Take a sharpened pencil and ruler. Make the markup for the future drawing. Draw a vertical line dividing the sheet in half and two horizontal lines. The upper one will indicate the height of the dome, the lower one - the base of the mosque.

Step 3

Draw the central building with the ruler. Mark the silhouettes of the minarets on the sides. Crown the central building with a rounded dome. Sketch out the semicircular windows and the gallery that flanks the courtyard.

Step 4

Start drawing the details. Use a soft pencil to trace the outlines of the windows and columns supporting the gallery roof. The mosque should look solid, but at the same time airy. Draw balconies at the top of the minarets and end the tops of the towers with pointed spiers. They, like the central dome, can be crowned with crescents.

Step 5

Erase the extra lines and working markings and start painting. Try the watercolor technique. Using a wide brush, apply water to the paper without going beyond the outline of the drawing. Mix blue and white paints on the palette and paint the background with wide strokes, simulating the sky. Make the lower part of the picture green. Take some more water on the brush and go over the border of the flowers, blurring it. Dry the background.

Step 6

Dip a thin brush in white paint and cover the walls of the mosque and minarets with it. Mix black and white paints and paint shadows. Draw the outlines of balconies, windows, openings between columns. Gently paint the dome with a dark green color.

Step 7

Use a thin brush with black paint to trace the outlines of the towers and the courtyard railing. Color the crescent moons yellow and put golden highlights on the top of the columns.
